Explore the beginnings of the automobile… or its modern variants.

As the birthplace of the automobile, Stuttgart is home to several museums dedicated to this phenomenal invention. Stuttgart is often directly associated with the automobile. It all began in 1886, when Gottlieb Daimler and Carl Benz invented the car almost at the same time. Today, big names in the automobile industry such as Porsche and Mercedes-Benz are still headquartered here. Both maintain a museum in the city. Give your meeting attendees and employees a glimpse into the wonderful world of the automobile. You will find opportunities galore in Stuttgart, whether you opt to visit a museum or a classic car fair.
At the heart of the company headquarters in Zuffenhausen, the Porsche Museum is housed in a spectacular and futuristic building. The spacious exhibition halls boast a modern design and ample room to showcase a continuously changing vehicle selection. You will not only find complete series from the very first to the latest model, but also a museum workshop where you can watch a classic Porsche being lovingly restored. The modern architecture is reflected in the building’s interior design and the interactive Porsche Exhibition boasts cutting-edge technology. Changing exhibitions complement the offering.
The Mercedes-Benz Museum takes visitors on an impressive journey through the history of the automobile. Like the Porsche Museum, it is located in a striking and architecturally stunning building. Both available tours are linked and start 34 metres above ground level. The guided tour through the exciting history of this important invention covers nine different levels. For 130 years, the automobile has changed our daily lives and habits beyond recognition. The rooms in the Mercedes-Benz Museum are divided into themed areas, and you will find information about the evolution of the automobile up to recent innovations and the latest research.
Both museums offer a selection of themed tours. But museums are not all that the birthplace of the automobile has to offer – the RetroClassics classic car fair and Gottlieb Daimler’s birthplace also offer an ideal setting for your meeting or convention.
